Requirements

Candidates must have a strong background in leading data science teams and a deep understanding of AI and machine learning principles. Experience in developing and integrating AI/ML capabilities across diverse product and business domains is essential. A proven ability to shape cross-functional roadmaps and embed AI/ML thinking into product and business lifecycles is required. Familiarity with advanced frameworks like reinforcement learning and multi-armed bandits, as well as experimentation methods such as causal inference, uplift modeling, and inverse propensity scoring, is necessary.

Responsibilities

The Director of Data Science will lead the development and integration of AI, machine learning, and data science capabilities across Life360's product and business domains. This role involves partnering with various teams to identify high-impact opportunities for intelligent systems and scientific methods to enhance decision-making and unlock value. Responsibilities include shaping a cross-functional roadmap, leading a team of scientists to build next-generation machine learning systems, deploying AI for personalization, and conducting high-impact experimentation and causal inference. The Director will also lead the enterprise strategy for embedding AI/ML across the full customer lifecycle, define and scale intelligent decision systems, and drive cross-functional alignment to productionize ML capabilities for personalization and optimization.
