Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced technology leader to join our Technology team and lead our Document Management platform team. This role is currently remote. As a part of our evolving location strategy, we are actively exploring the establishment of a new office. Candidates should be aware that this role may transition to an in-office setting in the future.

The Director of Document Management is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic roadmap for document management technologies, while leading global document management operations to ensure platform stability, performance, security, and compliance across Pacific Life. This leader oversees a diverse team of full-time employees and contractors distributed throughout the company’s global technology organization.

As part of the Enablement Platform Portfolio team, the role requires close collaboration with platform leaders across Business Process Management, Integration Services, and AI Platforms. In addition to working with direct peers, this leader partners with extended technology and business teams across Pacific Life to continuously enhance platform services and evolve delivery models that drive enterprise value.

How You’ll Help Move Us Forward

  • Partner with enterprise architecture and document management stakeholders to develop and refine the Document Management Platform roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategic plan to deliver on the Document Management vision.
  • Lead global operations and ongoing support for the Document Management Platform, ensuring technology stacks are up to date and meet all security and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the intake, prioritization, and delivery of Document Management solutions for the organization, incorporating work from teams that use different delivery models, such as Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall.
  • Implement observability and monitoring practices in adherence with enterprise standards to ensure proactive notification of potential issues impacting system performance and availability.
  • Proactively communicate roadmaps and resolve conflicts, ensuring seamless delivery of milestones across stakeholder groups.

The Experience You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working with enterprise technologies.
  • 5+ years in enterprise technology leadership roles.
  • Proven success delivering complex technology solutions in highly integrated ecosystems.
  • Experience managing global teams and vendor relationships.
  • Expertise in document ingestion, storage, generation, and electronic signature technologies.
  • Demonstrated use of automation to improve quality and reduce manual effort.
  • Working knowledge of compliance frameworks in Document Management technologies.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity through strong stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of technology leadership experience focused on Document Management or Enterprise Content Platforms.
  • Experience with IBM FileNet P8, OpenText CMS, or similar enterprise content management platforms.
