Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript development, extensive experience with React and Next.js, and practical experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP, is a plus, as is comfort working with browsers, REST APIs, and web technologies. Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, demonstrated experience helping other developers succeed, the ability to quickly understand and debug complex technical issues, empathy for customers, a drive for excellence in developer experience, and self-motivation with a proven ability to take ownership of projects are also essential. Nice-to-haves include experience using Clerk in production, knowledge of Go, experience with Cloudflare products, a background in developer tools or developer-facing products, a track record of contributing to technical documentation, experience with auth/user management systems, and participation in developer communities.

Responsibilities

The Developer Success Engineer will provide expert technical support to developers, ranging from implementation guidance to architectural consultations. They will collaborate on product development, including the core platform and upcoming support product offerings, and build and enhance internal tools to streamline support operations and improve developer experience. Responsibilities also include contributing to technical documentation and guides, investigating and documenting product bugs in collaboration with the engineering team, balancing engineering and support responsibilities, and directly influencing product development through customer interactions.
