Requirements

Candidates should possess 3+ years of experience in a design engineering role or similar, demonstrated through a strong portfolio showcasing design and development projects. Proficiency in Figma and frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS is required, along with familiarity with utility-first CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS and Radix UI for building reusable UI components. Experience with APIs (RESTful and/or tRPC) and integrating them into frontend applications seamlessly is also necessary.

Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer at Nominal, you will design and develop mission-critical features and end-to-end workflows that handle complex data visualization and interaction, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate user needs into functional designs. You will implement responsive and accessible UI components, contribute strategically to the product and design direction, and understand and bring clarity to technical topics using concrete design outputs. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with customers to synthesize feedback and drive high-quality, impactful design solutions, and navigate highly technical environments including aerospace, defense, and advanced energy applications.
