Requirements

Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in design engineering or frontend engineering with significant design ownership, and experience working in a highly regarded tech company or startup. Experience using AI dev tools is required, along with expertise in modern frontend technologies like Svelte/React and TypeScript, design tooling such as Figma, and designing in the browser. Exceptional design sensibility, the ability to translate high-level concepts into detailed, production-ready interfaces, and excellent collaboration skills with designers and engineers are essential. Candidates must code regularly and be comfortable in the terminal as well as in Figma. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Design Engineer will craft tools for the Amp agentic coding product, working on everything from the initial user experience to long-term features. Responsibilities include shipping multiple product improvements daily, iterating based on user feedback, enhancing the marketing site and documentation, and coding and prototyping frequently. The role involves talking to users and customers often and collaborating closely with engineers and designers to ship high-quality features that align with the product's vision.
