Candidates should possess a strong culinary background and experience, blending culinary talent with business acumen and teaching skills. They must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and be capable of adhering to applicable wage and hour laws.
The Culinary Lead will model and direct employees to ensure customer service standards are met, deliver and hold employees accountable for an exceptional cooking class experience, contribute to an environment where employees are informed and capable through training, maintain proper storage and service procedures, ensure food items are cooked and served at the correct temperature, communicate and maintain Sur La Table policies and SOPs, provide coaching and performance feedback to culinary employees, increase cooking class and retail sales, anticipate and solve problems, stay informed through product knowledge and training, ensure the accuracy of employee information, partner with relevant departments, and handle, serve, and pour liquor as needed. They will also fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Resident Chef.
