Who We Are

Symbotic is revolutionizing the supply chain with its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform. Our intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system, transforming warehouse automation for enhanced efficiency, speed, and flexibility.

What We Do

The Field Service Maintenance Team is a critical part of the Deployment, Implementation and Operations Organization. This organization is responsible for the stand-up of our systems within client sites, driving new systems from initial setup to a fully operational robotic material handling system.

What You'll Do

As the Supervisor, Field Service Maintenance, you will:

  • Lead and Develop Team: Lead, train, and develop the Field Service Bot Technicians team by implementing standardized policies, processes, and procedures to ensure consistency and operational efficiency across all sites.
  • Performance Management: Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship, while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of both new and existing team members.
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate weekly technician deployment schedules to meet project and customer priorities.
  • Escalation Point: Act as the primary escalation point for bot maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Develop and maintain troubleshooting documentation, SOPs, and escalation protocols. Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Product, Customer Success) to identify and address ongoing system maintenance needs.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure daily compliance with safety standards in alignment with OSHA, Symbotic, and customer site requirements.
  • Equipment Management: Manage escalated equipment needs related to customer issues, coordinating with internal departments and product owners as needed.
  • System Inspections & Upgrades: Perform inspections, upgrades, and evaluations on the Automated Storage and Retrieval System and Symbotic’s autonomous vehicle fleet, ensuring quality, functionality, and readiness.
  • System Uptime Support: Support system uptime by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying fleet system components to maintain continuous operation.
  • Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain advanced knowledge of Symbotic’s systems, equipment, software, and tools to support diagnostic and maintenance tasks.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform advanced troubleshooting of robotic vehicle systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and specialized test equipment.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections of delivered robotic fleet vehicles, verifying they meet structural readiness and have not been damaged during transport.
  • CMMS Documentation: Carry out periodic system inspections within target timeframes, documenting all actions, parts used, and labor through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Communication: Communicate production-impacting issues and solutions effectively, including estimated timeframes for corrective and emergency maintenance.
  • Adaptability: Adapt quickly to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, shifting priorities based on evolving business needs.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent experience in mechanical robotics, automation, and/or electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or an equivalent field is preferred.
  • Direct leadership or managerial experience is required.
