Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is the primary sales representative for Corvette Brands within their designated European markets, acting as the key communication channel for Retail Partners.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Sales & Profit Optimization: All aspects related to maximizing sales and profit for the Corvette Brand in a given market.
  • Relationship Management: All aspects of managing and developing relationships with Retail Partners for the Corvette Brand.
  • Business Model Support: All aspects of supporting the business model for the Corvette Brand.

Responsibilities

Sales Optimization (50%)

  • Ensure delivery of Sales Volume and contribution margin.
  • Implement strategies and operational procedures to achieve wholesale sales volume and contribution margin across all channels.
  • Maximize wholesale and retail sales volume and market share in the assigned country/area.
  • Maximize Retailer Sales Effectiveness within their Area of Responsibility.
  • Monitor the lead generation process and continuously improve dealer conversion rates.
  • Lead the control of dealer stock levels, stock aging, and financial hold to optimize sales volume.
  • Execute flawless new product launches in their Area of Responsibility, aligned with Corvette Europe strategy.
  • Act as the key communication channel for Retail Partners on sales topics in their Area of Responsibility.
  • Collect and provide real-time information on competitor activities (campaigns, launches, market approach changes), industry trends, and new entrants to GM Europe HQ to facilitate swift market reactions.

Relationship Management (40%)

  • Responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships with retail partners in the assigned country/area, with a focus on distribution processes and dealer marketing & PR.
  • Play an active role during the implementation of Retail Network Strategies and decisions.
  • Responsible for protecting Corvette's financial interests in dealings with retail partners.
  • Serve as the liaison for all HQ functions related to the specific market of responsibility.

Support Business Model (10%)

  • Support and leverage GM Europe functions for Retail Partners regarding Corvette activities, including Sales Operations, Marketing, Network Development, and PR.

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge (Theoretical Know-How)

  • Strong operational background with multifunctional experience.
  • Strong product and commercial knowledge of Automotive Sales, Marketing, and Network functions and processes.
  • Understanding of the local automotive industry market.

Skills (Practical Application of Knowledge)

  • Leading & Coaching of Retail Partners.
  • Cross-functional working.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Business resilience and ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage diversity.

Languages

  • Fluent English.
  • Proficiency in any other European language (German, French, Italian) is an advantage.

Experience & Education

  • BA or University degree in Economy or Business Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an international Sales and Marketing operation in a field position.
