Requirements

Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in energy consulting, industry, or investment within the power sector, with prior management consulting experience preferred. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, or a highly quantitative subject is preferred, and a graduate degree is a plus. Strong understanding of energy markets, fundamentals, regulations, and policies, particularly in power markets, energy storage, and clean tech, is essential. Excellent written and oral presentation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Some travel, averaging around 20% of the time, is expected. Advanced proficiency in programming languages like VBA, Python, and SQL is preferred, as is experience with large model development and power dispatch/demand modeling software.

Responsibilities

The Associate Director will lead project teams, manage analysis and reporting for client engagements, and independently complete analytical tasks. They will apply deep energy industry expertise to consulting needs, including power supply-demand modeling, regulatory analysis, strategy development, scenario planning, generation economics, reliability studies, and asset due diligence. Responsibilities also include driving new consulting business through client relationship building, opportunity identification, proposal development, sales closure, and project oversight. The role involves crafting client proposals, executing analytical components, and communicating insights through reports, presentations, and client interactions.
