Requirements

Candidates must be licensed attorneys in good standing, preferably qualified in a DACH or Nordic region, with 2-5 years of legal experience. Prior in-house experience is ideal, though candidates from private practice will be considered. Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, including SaaS and on-premise software contracts, is essential. A working understanding of privacy regulations and experience managing workload in high-pressure environments are required. Excellent legal and business judgment, strong communication, interpersonal, strategic, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are necessary. Fluent German is required if based in Germany, and fluent Swedish if based in Sweden. Experience with contract lifecycle management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Commercial Legal Counsel will provide legal support for the EMEA Contracts team, assisting sales and partner teams with SaaS and software agreements. This includes negotiating customer and partner commercial agreements, such as MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and DPAs, and advising the business on associated risks. Responsibilities also involve improving existing contract templates for the EMEA region, collaborating with the global team to centralize knowledge and create scalable processes, and assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with complex EMEA regulatory requirements. Prior experience negotiating contracts with European public authorities in DACH or Nordic regions is preferable.
