Collections Specialist

Position Overview

The Collections Specialist is responsible for collecting past-due balances on assigned accounts while fostering positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. The primary goal is to minimize the Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and reduce Over 90-day delinquencies for the Company.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform collection activities on invoices and recycle hauls for assigned accounts, including contacting customers and providers to address outstanding balances.
  • Apply advanced skills and knowledge of collection practices to reconcile and research accounts internally and externally before initiating collection activities.
  • Facilitate the resolution of disputed balances through thorough research of all available information and communicate findings to relevant parties.
  • Accurately document all actions taken on customer accounts to maintain a comprehensive collection event history.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers, addressing inquiries regarding collection status and information requests.
  • Prepare weekly follow-up reports detailing the status of credit and collection activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications

  • Experience collecting for high-dollar accounts.
  • Minimum of 2 years of collections or relevant experience.
  • Experience using EQAI, D365, and CSM is ideal, as this team supports Republic Services ES customers.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $21.75 - $32.65 USD Hourly DOE
