Candidates must possess 10+ years of professional work experience, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and 18 years of relevant experience. Required expertise includes knowledge of Cerner Referral Management and Community Care solution configuration, experience managing Information Technology-related projects, proficiency in life cycle and project management methodologies, demonstrated experience in tracking project costs, schedules, and performance progress, and a strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Additional qualifications include experience working with the VA, experience implementing Electronic Health Records (EHR), experience with Cerner Millennium (2018 code levels or higher), knowledge of Cerner Model recommendations, proven ability to work independently in developing and enhancing clinical software solutions, experience in analyzing and developing current and future-state clinical workflows, expertise in functional validation and end-user testing for EHR and integrated third-party solutions, experience leveraging ServiceNow for ticketing, reporting, and solution customization, and strong leadership, communication, analysis, and organizational skills.
The Clinical Subject Matter Expert will lead clinical operations during the VA's Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program deployment, ensuring workflows, documentation, and patient care practices align with standards and support user adoption. This role involves providing hands-on end-user support and troubleshooting during go-live, acting as a key liaison between clinical staff and technical teams to align system configurations with real-world practice, identifying workflow gaps, and recommending improvements. Responsibilities also include managing change and stakeholder engagement across deployment sites to ensure operational readiness and a seamless transition. Specific duties include facilitating collaboration between various VA and Oracle Health teams, supporting Informaticists and Solution Experts with administrative, strategic, and documentation support, collaborating on ticket management activities, tracking and updating change request tickets within multiple ticketing systems, supporting the Office of Functional Champion Testing Team (OFCt) with testing activities, monitoring Oracle Health activities to ensure alignment with scope and schedule, and providing project management support including execution of business processes, review of briefing materials, and risk management activities.
