The Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) role is crucial for providing TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) clinical trial and commercial case support, trial enrollment, and education initiatives within a defined region. This role integrates into the trial and commercial sales process, working collaboratively with the Territory Manager (TM). The CSS will educate interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hybrid OR/cath lab personnel on the safe and effective use of Abbott TAVI products. The position requires demonstrating expertise with our TAVI clinical and commercial product portfolio, procedures, and therapies to achieve optimal patient outcomes, advance clinical evidence, and grow market share.

This position may be hired at different levels depending on candidate experience. This position may require travel exceeding 50% based on staffing and regional demands. The CSS will report to the Regional Sales Director, with daily activities guided by the Territory Manager.


What You’ll Work On

This position is responsible for various TAVI clinical trial and commercial activities, focusing on technical and clinical expertise, training and education, and customer service. The role collaborates with the Territory Manager, Regional Sales Director, and Clinical Lead Specialist to increase market share and enhance the customer clinical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete internal training plans covering hemodynamics, ECG, angiography, echocardiography, and CT imaging modalities.
  • Complete case support and proctor delegate authorizations.
  • Provide active clinical trial and commercial case support, striving for excellence in procedural success rates and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in sterile procedures, including TAVI valve loading and providing training instruction to trial and commercial customers.
  • Perform CT valve sizing analysis for customers using the Pie Medical 3Mensio CT program.
  • Engage with trial sites and participate in subject selection committee calls.
  • Lead customer didactic education sessions to facilitate account activation prior to first implants.
  • Conduct pre-case planning and post-case debriefing with the heart team.
