Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent combination of experience; insurance or financial services industry preferred
  • Minimum 10 years prior experience working with Claims / Law Firms / Vendors, and leadership roles
  • Significant experience and expertise with a track record for the management or oversight of litigated Claims
  • Experience in developing and analyzing detailed commercial financial propositions
  • Experience working with commercial negotiations and drafting contracts
  • Proactive attitude with problem solving skills, strong logic skills and critical thinking
  • Data-driven with skillsets for reporting and analyzing data metrics
  • Experience building strong, meaningful internal and external relationships
  • Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires

Responsibilities

  • Manage the NAM Law Firm / Vendor Management Team, to oversee the end-to-end acquisition of panel Claim Law Firms / Vendors, who support claim litigation and non-litigated commodities
  • Oversee / negotiate commercial contracts from AIG’s Claim’s Panel Law Firm / Vendor and off-panel Claim Law Firms
  • Oversee spend and performance analysis is provided back to Claims Line of Businesses
  • Maintain strategic relationships with key panel Law Firms / Vendors
  • Oversee the control of eBilling of litigated Law Firm and non-litigated Vendor bills submitted through AIG’s eBilling platforms
  • Document and summarize the agreed commercial terms accurately
  • Oversee the collection and storage of all required due diligence documentation in line with the team’s standard operating process
  • Lead discussions with Claim leadership to develop Claims Law Firm / Vendor strategies to maintain panels and reduce total claim costs (Loss Adjusted Expense (LAE) reductions as well as Indemnity based savings)
  • Demonstrate project management skills and team leadership for driving forward Claim initiatives, pulling together clear project outlines and updates
  • Collaborate with the legal department and other support groups to ensure completion of acceptable contracts
  • Promote use of preferred Claim Law Firms / Claims Vendors to promote greater standardization, improved compliance, risk mitigation and leverage of purchasing power to increase cost savings
  • Communicate marketplace intelligence relative to Claim Law Firm / Vendor capabilities, market pricing, conditions and trends, innovations, to help guide AIG claims teams to optimal use of Claim Vendors
