Requirements

Candidates must possess at least 12 years of experience in operations, strategy, or general management, with a minimum of 5 years in an executive or senior leadership role within a tech platform company. Proven success leading operations in highly regulated industries such as HealthTech, FinTech, or Pharma is required, along with a demonstrated ability to build and scale operational systems, processes, and teams in fast-paced environments. Strong financial acumen and experience collaborating with finance, compliance, and legal teams are essential. A deep understanding of cross-functional leadership, team building, and change management is necessary. Direct experience in the cannabis industry, familiarity with cannabis compliance systems, experience scaling businesses through rapid growth, M&A, or restructuring, and prior leadership in vertically integrated or omni-channel business models are considered bonus points. The role requires willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

The Chief Operating Officer will oversee and scale the operational backbone of the business, reporting to the CEO and leading cross-functional execution to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth in the cannabis industry. Responsibilities include translating vision and strategy into actionable plans, owning and driving company-wide operational strategy, and developing operational readiness for new market entry and product launches. The COO will oversee daily business operations with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and cross-functional integration, ensuring state-by-state compliance with all regulatory requirements. They will lead the development and execution of company OKRs, KPIs, and operational dashboards, manage relationships with external partners and vendors, and champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Building, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams, fostering strong collaboration across departments, and driving change management efforts are also key duties. The COO will serve as a key voice on the executive team, grounding strategy in execution, and scaling organizational infrastructure and operational processes to support rapid growth and multi-state operations.
