Requirements

  • Expertise in culinary education, including product knowledge, brewing techniques, knife skills, and personalized instruction

  • Ability to properly handle tools, ingredients, and kitchen equipment to maintain a safe, efficient work environment
  • Skills in inventory management to maintain accurate levels, minimize shrink, and control expenses

Responsibilities

  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty
  • Lead engaging and informative culinary and coffee-focused demonstrations to showcase expertise and elevate the in-store experience
  • Deliver high-quality, hands-on classes that teach fundamental and advanced cooking techniques, including essential knife skills
  • Educate customers on brewing methods and guide selection of coffee beans
  • Promote and sell cooking tools, coffee products, equipment, and accessories during classes and demos
  • Support store revenue goals by driving customer engagement and conversion through education
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals
  • Partner with store leaders to align culinary programming with store priorities and collaborate on merchandising strategies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health codes, sanitation, and all policies/SOPs
  • Handle tools, ingredients, and equipment safely; maintain inventory, minimize shrink, and control expenses
  • Ensure store safety, cleanliness, and address maintenance needs promptly
  • Accurately record time worked according to company policy
