Clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options, including the importance of renewals and upgrading to BJ’s Loyalty programs
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to members
Knowledge of how to scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system for accurate inventory counts and purchase totals
Ability to collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments
Ability to issue receipts or change due to members
Stay up to date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information
Ability to scan and redeem coupons for discounts
Maintain cleanliness of the frontline area and assist in general club housekeeping
At least 18 years old (for 401(k) eligibility)
Responsibilities
Process member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, upgrading, and offering membership products
Scan all club merchandise through a point-of-sale system
Fill shopping carts when necessary and assist at self-checkout stations
Offer all appropriate membership products such as membership renewal, EASY renewal option, BJ’s Loyalty programs, and Rewards redemption
Check members out in a timely and efficient manner
Collect payments from members
Issue receipts or change due to members
Maintain the overall cleanliness of the front-line department
Return re-sellable merchandise to the sales floor
Carry out job functions as assigned, support club policies, procedures, and compliance
Act with honesty and integrity, lead with the member in mind, address concerns, and escalate as appropriate
Ensure a safe and positive environment for members and team members
Embrace inclusion and diversity, work collaboratively and respectfully
Deliver service excellence, resolve and deescalate member concerns
Commit to GOLD Member Standards: Greet, Anticipate, Appreciate (GAA)
Work as a team to deliver GOLD club standards daily, including Grand Opening Look, stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining signage, and keeping clean and organized
Understand and access production and/or financial performance reporting for the department
