Requirements

The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in a technical role with a telecom carrier or large enterprise, operating or managing a SIP-based voice infrastructure/UCaaS environment. Advanced knowledge of Voice over IP using SIP signaling, including UDP, RTP, TLS, and SRTP, is required. Proficiency in LAN and WAN switching and routing protocols for VoIP services, along with knowledge of BGP routing protocol, is essential. Understanding of international telephony regulations and experience in optimizing solutions for cost, performance, and quality, as well as vendor and external partner collaboration, are also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Carrier Engineer will maintain technical knowledge of VoIP and Networking technologies to interconnect carriers with the Zoom Telephony Platform. Key responsibilities include the evaluation, design, and onboarding of carriers and their telephony services. The role also involves handling Tier 2 escalations, addressing customer/end-user telephony issues, and monitoring, triaging, and supporting the Zoom Telephony Infrastructure.
