As a Cardiovascular Account Specialist at Cytokinetics, you will be responsible for introducing the company’s first commercial product – a novel cardiac myosin inhibitor for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) – within your dedicated territory. This role focuses on driving sales performance through strategic account development and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will work to establish yourself as a key resource for strategic IDNs, hospitals, cardiology clinics, and specialty pharmacies, ultimately supporting the company’s mission to address patients’ unmet needs.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma sales
  • Territory Ownership: Experience as a rep with sole ownership of the territory is highly preferred
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Cardiology, rare disease, or specialty product experience
    • Specialty product launch experience

Responsibilities

  • Sales Performance: Deliver sales results and operate autonomously within the territory.
  • Account Planning: Develop territory-specific account plans, identifying and prioritizing opportunities to meet customer needs.
  • Integrated Field Team Collaboration: Coordinate efforts with a local integrated field team including medical, payer, and patient navigation/support colleagues.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert and resource to customers, providing clinically relevant disease and product information.
  • Demand Generation: Communicate approved resources (marketing materials, payer information, formulary coverage, patient support services, and educational programs) to HCPs to create demand for the product launch.
  • Strategic Relationship Building: Identify and develop business relationships with strategic IDNs and Hospitals, cardiology clinics, and specialty pharmacies.
