Position Overview

Blockstream is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to join our enterprise sales team. This role is critical for generating new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and engaging potential clients. You will be instrumental in building relationships and securing meetings for the sales team, reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, Enterprise Products.


Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Research:
    • Identify and research potential clients, focusing on corporate treasuries, prime brokerage, investment banks, commercial banks, and regional banks.
  • Outreach & Engagement:
    • Conduct outreach via phone, email, and social media to engage prospects and build relationships within financial institutions.
  • Lead Qualification & Meeting Scheduling:
    • Qualify leads and schedule meetings, prioritizing high-value opportunities.
  • Follow-up & Collaboration:
    • Manage follow-up conversations with prospects.
    • Coordinate with team members and resources to facilitate closing new business.
    • Collaborate with the team to develop effective sales strategies for the financial services sector.
  • CRM Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of leads and interactions in the CRM.
  • Industry Awareness:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and the evolving needs of financial institutions through networking, events, and media.
  • Reporting:
    • Provide regular updates on lead generation efforts and outcomes to management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated relationships through experience covering corporate treasuries and/or regulated banks (prime brokerage, investment banking, commercial banking, regional banking).
  • Proven success in meeting and exceeding quotas in enterprise fintech sales.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with interdepartmental CRM integrations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the cryptocurrency or fintech industry.
  • Knowledge of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with decision-makers in financial institutions.
