This role is responsible for delivering top-line sales and bottom-line profit targets for K12 customers by increasing penetration with current K12 customers and acquiring new K12 customers, focusing on the top 200. The position is heavily focused on business development, identifying and pursuing profitable growth opportunities.

Location

  • Working Remotely within the Continental United States.
  • Must be within 1 hour of a major airport.
  • Up to 50% travel is expected.
  • Preferred residence within the Eastern US (Illinois South through Louisiana and towards the East).

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, and deliver results against incremental growth opportunities within the K12 Segment.
  • Achieve financial results (acquire, penetrate, retain).
  • Build and maintain relationships within key existing K12 customers (penetration) and new customer locations (acquisition).
  • Develop customer-specific business development plans within the book of business.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive brand and category growth to exceed sales and profit goals.
  • Manage and grow USDA Foods Inventory within identified markets.
  • Coordinate with Field Sales management for in-market execution against high-priority initiatives.
  • Identify growth opportunities within key K12 Scope and lead efforts to commercialize through the JM Smucker Away from Home organization.
  • Business Planning and Analyses:
    • Manage Broker partner relationships, communicate strategic direction, and hold accountable.
    • Analyze business to discover new ways to penetrate existing and acquire new K12 business (e.g., whitespace campaigns, promotions).
    • Work cross-functionally internally to gain marketing & finance support to achieve goals.
    • Own Annual Joint Business Planning, Quarterly Business Reviews, Customer Events/Shows, and other identified meetings.
  • Accelerate Team Performance:
    • Drive business planning and activation process, working closely with cross-functional business partners (Revenue Growth Management, Research & Development, Finance, Legal, Marketing, etc.).
    • Receive direction from people manager (National Account Executive) on opportunities to improve key customer performance.
    • Participate in assigned projects.
    • Drive strategic partnership and long-term focus with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Provide K12 insights as needed to internal teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree.
    • 3-5 years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Foodservice Sales.
    • Experience calling on the K12 Segment; crafting and fostering top-to-top relationships across major industry and supply chain customers.
    • Understanding of K-12 Supply chain customers’ needs and opportunities.
    • Knowledge and proven success in working with USDA Foods.
    • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive business results.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrate understanding of customer strategies.
    • Act as a role model, share successes/opportunities with the team (coach, collaborate, and teamwork).
    • Reside within the Eastern United States.
