Requirements

  • Ability to work directly with Managing Group Leaders (MGLs), Practice Development Managers (PDMs), and Group Principals
  • Experience or capability to develop and execute revenue growth and market visibility plans
  • Familiarity with practice areas including Competition/Antitrust, Intellectual Property, Telecom, Healthcare, and Consumer Protection
  • Collaboration skills with VP of Marketing & Business Development on strategic projects
  • Proficiency in market analysis, competitor analysis, and client insights
  • Knowledge of CRM systems for tracking and reporting BD activity
  • Coaching and training skills for business development best practices

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders on developing and implementing annual strategic plans using market analysis, competitor analysis, and client insights
  • Monitor markets, industries, and competitors to help practice groups differentiate and respond to market needs (e.g., suggest thought leadership and client-specific offerings)
  • Monitor top clients and prospects to identify opportunities for expanding relationships and revenue
  • Work with the VP to identify priority clients for client satisfaction interviews with Brattle’s President
  • Build and maintain foundational BD elements (core pitch materials, practice group descriptions, collateral, bios, experience lists)
  • Support pitches for new work, including researching opportunities, developing custom sales collateral, project managing RFPs, prepping for meetings, and driving follow-up
  • Coordinate client and prospect outreach for a unified market approach
  • Attend practice meetings to provide marketing updates and strategic guidance
  • Provide coaching on BD activity and participate in group trainings to educate consultants on best practices
  • Develop relationships within the Group, communicate regularly with consultants to understand their work and priorities, and know team strengths
  • Track and report on BD activity, ensuring all activity is logged in CRM
  • Identify and evaluate brand-building opportunities (speaking, sponsorships, conferences, events, media relations)
  • Write submissions for practice and individual rankings and awards
  • Collaborate with consultants and Marketing to advance, produce, and promote thought leadership
  • Collaborate with consultants and Marketing to promote client successes internally and externally
  • Collaborate with the VP to advance market-based profile-raising initiatives
  • For newly hired Principals and select expert consultants, develop client-focused integration plans, identify clients/prospects for introductions, and facilitate with Principals
  • Evolve marketing collateral to reflect new expertise and experience
  • Drive announcement plans for select new laterals and work with Marketing on multi-channel campaigns
  • Collaborate with PDM to ensure BD resources
