Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5+) years of experience in a sales role with proven track record; foodservice industry experience is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience; ASFC designation preferred
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including good knowledge of report analysis and data understanding
  • Ability to express information in terms of business value and impact

Responsibilities

  • Implement the new agreed business plan in accordance with district and/or regional financial objectives
  • Work with regional sales managers to develop an overall business development strategy
  • Leverage advanced analytics to prioritize opportunities and develop a business development strategy
  • Responsible for prioritizing information opportunities recommended by other sales team members (processed through Sysco's Salesforce platform with management approval)
  • Responsible for developing a creative and effective sales plan to capitalize on multi-segment opportunities identified by advanced analytics
  • Leverage the expertise and skills of a cross-functional sales team to quickly address unique prospect concerns, build trust, and shorten sales cycles
  • Coordinate the local contract proposal process that meets client needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Collaborate with the sales team to expand business development efforts, including helping other sales team members secure key accounts to achieve the annual profit plan
  • Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals and results for target accounts and prepare action plans when improvements are needed
  • Gather information on emerging markets and foodservice industry trends to understand the competitive landscape and position Sysco to increase effectiveness in securing new contracts
  • Develop strong working relationships with brokers, distributors, and foodservice industry peers
  • Record prospect account data and activity in Sysco's Salesforce platform
  • Identify opportunities for promotions, additional services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased sales
  • Make presentations and consult with senior executives on foodservice sector trends
  • Attend sales meetings, food trade shows, client events, etc., and provide feedback
  • Perform other duties as required
