About Us: We are reinventing consumer credit by leveraging technology to reduce the cost of capital. Our first product is a world’s cheapest credit card backed by home equity. We’ve dramatically sped up the process, reducing it from 4-6 weeks and $0 to $15 minutes and $0.

The Team: We are a well-capitalized (over $250MM in equity funding) team comprised of technology (Square, Microsoft, Facebook) and finance (Discover, CapitalOne, Goldman Sachs) executives with top-tier investors including Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures, Max Levchin, NYCA, Sequoia, SciFi VC, Caffeinated Capital, etc. Our team includes individuals with experience in building financial products, consumer products, technology infrastructure, and mathematical/scientific infrastructure.

Job Brief: We’re seeking a Business Development Associate to help grow Aven by identifying and securing high-impact partnerships. This role is ideal for someone energized by outreach, thriving in ambiguity, and wanting to make a direct impact on the company’s growth. You’ll be the first point of contact for many potential partners, responsible for driving new business opportunities, managing outbound efforts, and building strong early-stage relationships. You’ll collaborate with the founding team to shape and execute partnership strategies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in business development or direct sales focused on cold prospecting.
  • Grit and determination – ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and hit ambitious targets.
  • Proven track record of success in a quota-carrying role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A successful track record in B2B business development or sales is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing partnership opportunities for Aven.
  • Oversee the first stage of the sales pipeline by performing cold outreach and nurturing leads through various channels, including phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Manage the outbound sales pipeline, ensuring data accuracy and serving as the source of truth.
  • Make a remarkable first impression on potential partners by providing consistent value at every touchpoint.
  • Champion growth opportunities internally through partnership initiatives.
