Position Overview

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. The Business Systems Product Owner (Professional 2) maximizes the value of products created by the Agile team. This role liaises with stakeholders and the development team, ensuring the right product is being built in the right order, within budget, and by the deadline. The Product Owner serves as the Agile team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making. This individual modifies systems and processes to solve complex problems, considering computer equipment limitations, operating time, and the desired results. They also validate the benefits achieved from solution implementation.

Specific Day-to-Day Activities

  • Collaborates with Business Operations, IT, Resolution Team Application Vendor, Testing Team, etc., to resolve system defects and implement system enhancements.
  • Documents System Requirements / User Stories to support Requested System Enhancements.
  • Completes System Configuration assigned within the delivery timeframe without defects.
  • Processes System Access / User Provisioning Requests.
  • Maintains System Runbook - Creates/manages the “Runbook” for Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid, Commercial, and Specialty system enhancements.
  • Follows Agile Methodology for prioritization and completion of assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience writing system requirements OR 2+ years of experience developing processes
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, using Agile Development Methodologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in problem analysis and process improvement
  • Problem-solving and consultation skills within complex environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in system configuration
  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, and Qtest
  • Experience with process documentation
  • Product Owner Training / Certification

Additional Information

  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the US without Humana sponsorship, as Humana does not provide work visa sponsorship for this role.
  • Schedule: Standard Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm Eastern Time Zone. Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • On-Call Support: Must be available to cover an overnight or weekend 10-12 hour shift up to 12 times annually (to support system release schedules).

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

To ensure associates’ ability to work effectively, self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria:

  • Recommended Speed: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications.
  • Connection Type: Wireless, Wired Cable, or DSL connection is suggested. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections can be used only if they provide an optimal connection and have been approved by leadership.
  • Internet Cost: Humana will not pay for or reimburse associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota.
