Position Summary

The Billing Strategy and Analytics Lead is a key cross-functional partner responsible for driving actionable insights and strategic initiatives to optimize reimbursement, minimize denials, and support data-driven decisions across the organization. This individual will work closely with Finance, Billing, Market Access, Product, and other departments to identify barriers, forecast trends, and uncover opportunities related to payer reimbursement and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations and reports to support stakeholders across Finance, Billing, Market Access, and Product teams.
  • Analyze reimbursement patterns across payers and products, identifying trends, risks, and revenue-impacting factors such as ASP variance.
  • Conduct detailed benefit investigations, medical policy reviews, and payor-specific contract analysis to understand reimbursement behaviors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, payer policies, and healthcare legislation impacting reimbursement strategies.
  • Design and implement strategies to improve reimbursement outcomes and reduce claim denials based on data insights and trend analysis.
  • Create and manage custom dashboards, visualizations, and performance reports for both strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Lead and support projects aimed at process optimization, automation, and scalable efficiencies.
  • Perform advanced analytics including forecasting, sensitivity analysis, and scenario modeling to inform business strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage multiple projects across diverse products and initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership, tailoring insights to specific audiences with clarity and business relevance.
  • Ensure the integrity of data systems and develop best practices in data governance and process controls.
  • Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to derive actionable insights in support of business goals.
  • Participate in regular meetings to review key metrics, payer trends, operational bottlenecks, and improvement strategies.
  • Work with PHI in both electronic and paper form in a secure, compliant manner in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing, revenue cycle, or payer analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of payer reimbursement systems, medical policy interpretation, and insurance verification processes.
  • Expertise in data analytics tools and platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel, and/or Python.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets to deliver meaningful insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into executive-level summaries.
  • Experience with PHI, HIPAA compliance, and handling sensitive healthcare data.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $81,900 - $122,350 USD
  • Note: Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
