About This Role

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Strategic Payer Partner (SPP) to join our team. This regionally assigned role is crucial for managing the operational and strategic performance of our end-to-end revenue cycle (order to cash).

The SPP will be responsible for analyzing post-claim payer performance data to identify root causes of revenue leakage and operational inefficiencies. Working closely with the Revenue Cycle Data Scientist, you will evaluate trends, engage internal stakeholders, and ensure the resolution of issues, whether they stem from payer behavior or field/provider processes. You will ensure corrective actions are communicated and executed by AR teams and vendor partners.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Utilize RCM dashboards and analytics to evaluate post-claim payer performance within your assigned region.
  • Identify patterns in denials, aging AR, underpayments, or systemic breakdowns.
  • Determine whether issues are payer-related or field/provider-related.
  • Engage the RCM Liaison for field or provider-based issues (e.g., friction, registration errors, documentation gaps).
  • Engage the DMA for payer-side issues (e.g., policy denials, payer AR trends, underpayments).
  • Engage the Payer Management Team for fee schedule updates and/or payer setup needs or issues.
  • Coordinate with AR management and billing vendors to implement revenue leakage fixes.
  • Monitor assigned regional payers for KPIs such as denial rate, collection rate, Conall exposure, and AR aging.
  • Track and prioritize performance issues based on financial impact.
  • Partner with Market Access to escalate contracting-related payer risks.
  • Maintain clear communication of action plans with internal teams and vendor partners.
  • Ensure accountability for the execution and follow-up of payer performance fixes.
  • Maintain updated payer performance dashboards and ensure insights are shared with leadership.
  • Document root cause findings, escalations, and resolutions.
  • Support audit readiness by documenting the payer issue lifecycle.
  • Ensure resolution strategies align with compliance and SOX standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency.

About You (Experience)

  • 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle, payer performance, or healthcare reimbursement roles.
  • Ability to interpret data trends, model performance, and identify actionable insights.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
