Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of traditional, social, and digital markets as it relates to consumer brands, with 5-7 years’ experience in PR (preference for relatable industry experience and/or knowledge)
  • Experience working with Canadian retail clients (CPG and home products segments preferred)
  • Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French (bilingual)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple sizable accounts simultaneously and multiple stakeholders (e.g., clients in numerous time zones and external agency partners)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to write across a wide range of formats
  • Strategic, confident, detailed-oriented, with an eagle eye for editing, quick learning curve, ability to grasp complex issues and processes, and knowledge/curiosity to offer qualified opinions

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with client leads, creative, and digital teams to plan projects and respond to briefs
  • Support the client lead in developing integrated marketing and communication plans for key target audiences based on strong strategic insights
  • Serve as the client relationship manager and primary day-to-day contact
  • Provide leadership in total account management, including project planning, work-back schedules, timelines, and execution processes
  • Play a key role in researching, planning, and developing campaigns while driving plans forward
  • Demonstrate the ability to segment stories by angle for different journalist beats and specialist verticals
  • Possess a practical understanding of earned, owned, paid, and social media channels and how to integrate them into holistic communications programs
  • Pitch ideas persuasively to media, clients, and internal teams
  • Act as the day-to-day lead contact for PR and communications counsel across consumer and corporate divisions
  • Show an advanced understanding of all facets of the communications marketing mix, including digital, social media, in-store activations, visual content, earned media, and advertising
  • Mentor, coach, and support team members at all levels
  • Maintain a strong understanding of core financial principles including revenue, profitability, pricing models (hourly vs. retainer), utilization, realization, budgeting, and forecasting
