Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
Strong understanding of traditional, social, and digital markets as it relates to consumer brands, with 5-7 years’ experience in PR (preference for relatable industry experience and/or knowledge)
Experience working with Canadian retail clients (CPG and home products segments preferred)
Ability to communicate fluently in both English and French (bilingual)
Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage multiple sizable accounts simultaneously and multiple stakeholders (e.g., clients in numerous time zones and external agency partners)
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated ability to write across a wide range of formats
Strategic, confident, detailed-oriented, with an eagle eye for editing, quick learning curve, ability to grasp complex issues and processes, and knowledge/curiosity to offer qualified opinions

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with client leads, creative, and digital teams to plan projects and respond to briefs
Support the client lead in developing integrated marketing and communication plans for key target audiences based on strong strategic insights
Serve as the client relationship manager and primary day-to-day contact
Provide leadership in total account management, including project planning, work-back schedules, timelines, and execution processes
Play a key role in researching, planning, and developing campaigns while driving plans forward
Demonstrate the ability to segment stories by angle for different journalist beats and specialist verticals
Possess a practical understanding of earned, owned, paid, and social media channels and how to integrate them into holistic communications programs
Pitch ideas persuasively to media, clients, and internal teams
Act as the day-to-day lead contact for PR and communications counsel across consumer and corporate divisions
Show an advanced understanding of all facets of the communications marketing mix, including digital, social media, in-store activations, visual content, earned media, and advertising
Mentor, coach, and support team members at all levels
Maintain a strong understanding of core financial principles including revenue, profitability, pricing models (hourly vs. retainer), utilization, realization, budgeting, and forecasting
