Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in business intelligence development and database development. Proficiency in Power BI or another BI tool is required, along with experience in DAX/Power BI and Analysis Models. A working understanding of visual analytics best practices, development processes, and common BI tools like Power BI, Qlik Sense, and Tableau is beneficial, as are strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with Data Warehousing concepts and BI applications such as decision support systems, query and reporting, and online analytical processing is also desired.
The BI Developer will design and develop Business Intelligence (BI) analytical systems, including installing, configuring, customizing, and troubleshooting BI tools and applications. Responsibilities include monitoring operating efficiency, designing and coding complex queries and reports, performing testing, and revising as necessary. The role involves creating Views, Reports, and Dashboards that leverage BI features, supporting BI architecture and implementation, and managing reporting architecture design and improvements. This includes gathering requirements, documentation, and conducting retrospective meetings. The developer will also assist in building and maintaining the BI reporting system, troubleshooting BI application problems, and creating general documentation and training materials. Additionally, they will analyze specifications, develop/test complex reports and dashboards, create and document reusable BI objects and templates, develop the business semantic layer from multiple platforms and databases, and work collaboratively with a focus on iterative development.
