Responsibilities

  • Execute against purchasing and supply management strategies created by Regional Category Managers
  • Work intimately with customers, divisions, and Category Managers to drive the "One Abbott Procurement" model
  • Provide superior customer service while adhering to strict business ethics and integrity
  • Define and resolve problems in value, quality, feasibility, and specifications for procurement of goods and services
  • Contribute cost savings, supplier partnerships, and value-added activities to support customer needs
  • Proactively seek innovative ways to improve procurement processes, cycle times, and customer service levels
  • Work on projects impacting the "One Procurement" team
  • Act as first line responder, pivoting between strategy and operations; serve as resource for less experienced colleagues
  • Execute against larger category strategies under guidance of strategic category leaders
  • Research and evaluate products and suppliers; perform value analysis on costs and supplier quotes
  • Recommend process improvements for efficiencies
  • Analyze complex problems and deliver solutions
  • Support PO conversion and decisive negotiations
  • Manage PO approvals
  • Educate on existing solutions and enable performance and tech tools development
  • Support operational and vendor issues; solve complex problems
  • Manage PO change management and evaluate causes for change
  • Enable supplier integration and KPIs
  • Drive value and lead savings outcomes
  • Collaborate with all functions
  • Develop bids and proposal formats; lead complex RFPs and small projects
  • Process Purchase Requests: assist stakeholders in defining specifications, review and evaluate requests, ensure completeness of documents
  • Manage POs: run reports for open POs, approve POs using the system, compare prices/specs/delivery/savings to select best suppliers
  • Respond to inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations
  • Organize, update, and retain product information files and PO records
  • Develop and assist in developing APAC SOPs for efficient and compliant operations
  • Ensure alignment and compliance of Purchasing policies with Global Procurement and Financial policies
  • Ensure implementation and strict observance of Purchasing policies
  • Work with supervisors/managers to review, update, and document changes in Purchasing Policies
  • Perform upstream collaboration with internal stakeholders from planning to procurement
