Candidates should possess a degree in cybersecurity, cyber crime, intelligence, criminal justice, forensic accounting, or data analytics. Previous experience conducting complex financial crime investigations for federal government, intelligence analysis, law enforcement, financial services, or cryptocurrency companies is highly desired, as is experience with dark web, counter-terrorism, or technical analysis. Experience conducting open-source research using public and private databases is also highly desired. Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, and English is required, and candidates preferably reside in Brazil.
The Associate Investigator will collaborate with team members and across Chainalysis to support complex cryptocurrency investigations, providing investigative and analytic support for highly sensitive financial crime investigations. Responsibilities include conducting research and data analysis, authoring reports of findings, and presenting them to stakeholders. The role involves reviewing the adequacy of investigations and data collection methods, preparing in-depth summaries of research and analysis, and making recommendations. Additionally, the investigator will evangelize the Chainalysis mission, become an expert in using company tools and data to identify illicit activity trends, and develop and present workshops and training materials in English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
