A sophisticated understanding of how analytics applies to earned media strategies and tactical execution is required. The role also requires the ability to identify potential story ideas, develop strategic earned media programs with a global or ex-US market lens, and manage multiple projects for multiple clients from concept to completion. Experience in leading teams, providing strategic counsel, and coaching junior talent on media pitching skills is essential. Proficiency in assessing complex situations, distilling information for clients and media, and managing various media programs such as product launches, corporate purpose initiatives, and executive visibility programs is also necessary. Contributing to business growth through networking and introducing clients to new capabilities is a key requirement.
The Associate Director, Global Media Relations will develop and lead client relationships, providing counsel on communications marketing strategy and driving the implementation of innovative communications marketing programs. They will oversee global media campaigns, contribute to the development of plans, and manage media programs for product launches, corporate purpose initiatives, regulatory milestone events, executive visibility programs, and issues-related media events. This role involves serving as the client's lead earned media contact, addressing client issues effectively, and tracking brand milestones while considering the client's broader global enterprise goals. The Associate Director will represent the earned media point of view within integrated agency teams and contribute to a positive team environment by leading by example and overseeing the work of more junior staff to ensure quality and productivity. They will also coach staff consistently and empower them to succeed without micromanagement.
