Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, along with strong organizational, analytical, written/oral communication, and interpersonal skills. The role requires a customer service focus, the ability to research and escalate inquiries urgently, and a solution-based attitude to overcome objections.
The Associate Category Operations Manager will act as the primary escalation point for merchandising inquiries, become a subject matter expert in US Foods systems, and provide support for vacancy and backup roles. Responsibilities include assisting with analytics requests, local flyer item selection, rebate solicitation, Roll Out Book reviews, and assortment projects. The role involves managing the NIR process, entering DCTs for new items and local flyers, analyzing ATC communications, developing vendor contacts, and serving as an escalation point for RSC inquiries. Additionally, the manager will support sourcing, market baskets, and special pricing requests, and act as a gatekeeper for COM inquiries, including APN lookups and vendor/item/pricing approvals.
