Responsibilities

  • Partners with Store Manager on long-range management of the store workforce
  • Oversees payroll to meet budget, including effectively scheduling teammates based on athlete traffic and analyzing sales through reports
  • Hires and builds strong teams by partnering with the Store Manager to create targeted hiring strategies and recruit within the community
  • Leads with coaching and development for teammate discipline, appraisals, performance matters, and makes recommendations for termination and advancement
  • Plans, organizes, and controls store operations 90 days out with Store Manager guidance
  • Creates a hassle-free shopping experience by identifying opportunities and validating key in-store programs (e.g., BOPIS, ship-from-store)
  • Directly manages team in assigned department(s) and has dotted line responsibility for other areas when serving as Head Coach
  • Ensures department(s) meet merchandising standards (merchandise exposure, visual, pricing, signage, etc.)
  • Holds teammates accountable for operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service expectations, and company policies
  • Ensures compliance with company operational processes (firearm compliance where applicable, cash handling, safety requirements) and conducts Loss Prevention audits
  • Ensures teammates practice safety and security processes and executes Loss Prevention programs (may serve as store "Shrink Coach")
  • Prioritizes training, coaching, and development of self and others through day-to-day leading, accountability, motivation, hands-on coaching, and development plans
  • Maintains a people-first culture by connecting with teammates, building trust and respect, and creating a high-energy environment
  • Creates an inclusive store environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, and encouraged to bring their best self
  • Supports opportunities for teammates to give back to their community
