Requirements

  • Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification (must be maintained in good standing)
  • May require yearly certification for a forklift license
  • In Florida, must obtain qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight (BJ’s covers cost and training)
  • Strong business acumen through strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to model leadership competencies, foster trust, promote open communication, and champion growth
  • Skills in communicating effectively, providing direction and support to teams
  • Capability to build high-performing teams through collaboration, coaching, empowerment, clear direction, and accountability

  • Experience or readiness to develop talent, lead audit compliance, drive collaboration with Business Partners, and oversee onboarding, certification, and training for food safety and operational excellence
  • Ability to serve as Manager on Duty (MOD), taking full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and Member engagement during assigned shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance, particularly for directly managed departments (preparing for Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience tracks)
  • Ensure consistent execution of policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive member service experience
  • Uphold Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) standard club conditions
  • Provide overall leadership and direction within the club
  • Develop talent and teams by fostering a culture of growth through collaboration, coaching, empowerment, and creating opportunities for success
  • Lead audit compliance efforts
  • Drive collaboration with Business Partners (BPs)
  • Oversee onboarding, certification, and training to ensure food safety and operational excellence
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for the club as needed, managing full club operations, team leadership, and Member engagement during assigned shifts
