Requirements

  • Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification (required and must be maintained in good standing)
  • In Florida, obtain a qualifier certification through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for retail propane oversight
  • Complete yearly certification for a forklift license (BJ’s covers applicable costs and training)
  • Strong business acumen through strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making
  • Leadership competencies including modeling leadership, championing growth, effective communication, building high-performing teams, delivering results, developing talent, and displaying leadership (fostering trust, open communication, resolving conflicts, building inclusive relationships)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Closing Manager to provide leadership and direction within the club and drive club performance
  • Oversee, when serving as Manager on Duty (MOD), recovery, utility, and Perishable departments (Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer) as well as overnight prep to ensure all areas are clean, stocked, and ready for morning open
  • Maintain policies and procedures
  • Deliver a positive service experience to members
  • Provide Grand Opening Look Daily (GOLD) club conditions
  • Assist in audit compliance efforts
  • Drive collaboration with Business Partners (BPs)
  • Oversee onboarding, certification, and training to ensure food safety and operational excellence
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for the club as needed, taking full responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and Member engagement during assigned shifts
