Salary Range

$95,600 - $162,400 USD

This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to understand strategies and identify opportunities for analytics to drive decision-making.
• Define and develop analytic capabilities to address cross-business function challenges within a business unit.
• Support the analytical needs of various business functions, enabling strategic prioritization for maximum value delivery.
• Analyze Northern Trust’s core business processes and data flows to design and develop enduring solutions that provide historical and predictive analytical insights.
• Ensure best practice techniques are used for accurate and insightful data reporting.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of solutions that:
  • Leverage and extend existing Business Intelligence and analytics infrastructure.
  • Consider metric governance and enterprise solutions alignment.
  • Are scalable, repeatable, and effective.
  • Adhere to agreed-upon governance and technology policies, including Agile or SDLC processes.
• Assist with applying and developing statistical models/methods to address business issues.
• Develop metrics and create ad-hoc reporting as needed.
• Support internal customers with operational change management activities to realize business value from analytics solutions.
• Ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved promptly.
• Rapidly and effectively adapt to highly dynamic and fast-paced work environments.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Foster a positive and collaborative environment.
• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

Requirements and Knowledge

• Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High flexibility and adaptability to change.
• Leadership and organizational skills to define Business Unit goals, resource needs, and assess/develop staff skills.
• Database systems competence.
• Familiarity with data analysis and/or reporting.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Experience with SQL and Excel.
• Strong project management skills.
• Strong team/relationship building skills.
• Preferred:
  • Familiarity with other analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite, QlikView, Informatica, or other tools).
  • Familiarity with relational and dimensional database concepts, querying, data warehouses, requirements gathering, and/or decision support tools.
  • Prior experience using statistical software or knowledge of various data mining and analytical tools (SSRS, SAS, etc.).

Experience

• A college or university degree and/or relevant demonstrated work experience.
