Houzz is seeking a world-class Product Data Scientist to join the Pro Data Science team. This team is dedicated to uncovering critical insights and developing models to drive intelligent business decisions, directly impacting Houzz Pro Software.

What You'll Do

  • Drive product development and business direction through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with leadership, product, data, and engineering teams on strategic data science initiatives for Houzz Pro.
  • Define and manage key business and product metrics (KPIs).
  • Design product experiments, interpret results, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Own end-to-end project execution with cross-functional teams.
  • Define data collection needs with data infrastructure/product engineering teams.
  • Provide recommendations for product ideation and feature launches.
  • Develop and maintain data products for real-time business insights and production environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience in a Data Science role within a high-growth tech company.
    • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries (e.g., using aggregate functions, all types of joins with Hive or Presto).
    • Strong programming skills in Python or R.
    • Proven track record of making data-driven recommendations with real business impact.
    • Experience with machine learning and statistical modeling, including model evaluation and applications.
    • Proficiency in advanced experimental design, testing, and analysis.
    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience driving large cross-functional initiatives.
    • Self-motivated, independent, and eager to learn.
  • Ideal Qualifications:
    • Experience working with remote teams across different time zones.
    • Experience with SaaS solutions, user engagement, and funnel conversion.
    • Ability to learn and act quickly, making decisions and drawing conclusions in ambiguous situations.

Compensation, Benefits and Perks
