Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant

Salary: $88,000 - $110,000 Employment Type: Full-time Location Type: Remote

Position Overview

At Oura, our mission is to empower every person to own their inner potential. With our award-winning Oura Ring and app, we help over 2.5 million people turn insights about sleep, activity, and readiness into healthier, more balanced lives. We believe that starts from within — by creating a culture where our team feels supported, included, and inspired to do their best work. Our values guide how we show up for each other and our community every day.

We are seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant to manage the end-to-end accounts payable process while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is a hands-on role that blends transactional AP execution with accounting ownership, ideal for someone eager to grow in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

We have offices in San Francisco and San Diego for those who prefer hybrid or office settings. Oura employees in other major cities (like Boston and New York) occasionally gather informally at local co-working locations.

Responsibilities

  • Process and review vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate coding, approvals, and timely payment.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs (ACH, wires, international payments) in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain and reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Record month-end accruals for unbilled expenses and perform variance analysis.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and support onboarding of new vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX).
  • Reconcile and audit employee expense reports for policy compliance.
  • Assist with implementation of AP systems or automation tools (e.g., Tipalti, Coupa, NetSuite).
  • Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external audits.
  • Support process improvements in the procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, AP aging, and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and AP automation tools.
  • Experience in a scaling or multi-entity environment, ideally in tech or consumer products.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze and reconcile data.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working across time zones.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IPO readiness, SOX controls, or external audits.
  • Familiarity with international payments and multi-currency AP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At Oura, we care about you and your well-being. Everyone here at Oura has a ring of their own and we are continually looking to improve employee health.

  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus 8 days of flexible wellness time off.
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave.
