Groq is seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Accounting Manager to join its growing Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is for an experienced accounting professional with strong technical acumen, hands-on operational expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the close process, reviewing complex transactions, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation, review, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Review and approve complex transactions with sensitivity to technical accounting standards, including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, and ASC 718.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to support audit readiness and compliance.
  • Collaborate with external consultants on domestic and international tax filings and ensure accurate global compliance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in NetSuite, helping teams navigate the system and optimize usage for accurate reporting.
  • Utilize and manage close processes through tools such as FloQast (or similar close management systems).
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to support financial initiatives and reporting accuracy.
  • Contribute to process improvements and help scale accounting operations as the company grows.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with a mix of private and public company experience; private accounting is required, public is a strong plus.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially related to ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350, and ASC 718.
  • Experience managing or running the close process, with proficiency using close management tools (e.g., FloQast).
  • Solid understanding of audit controls and preparation for external audits.
  • Advanced proficiency in NetSuite and comfort navigating complex financial systems.
  • Prior experience working with domestic and international tax matters, including coordination with third-party providers.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong operational mindset with a proactive approach to improving systems and processes.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing people is a plus, but not required.
