Position Overview

  • Salary: $68,000 - $110,000 (Base salary range, may vary by location)
  • Additional Compensation: Eligible for short-term incentive compensation.

This role is for an Account Manager within the US Petcare Division. The primary responsibilities involve utilizing solution selling, territory management, and business planning to maximize sales performance within the assigned geography. This is a field-based position requiring travel and some evening work for educational programs.

Responsibilities

  • Meet overall sales objectives (quota) for the assigned territory, including key growth products, through demand generation.
  • Successfully launch new products and service offerings.
  • Generate new equipment leads.
  • Consistently demonstrate Solution Selling capabilities.
  • Build and demonstrate relevant technical knowledge, verbal fluency, and veterinary practice expertise.
  • Build effective relationships with and service all targeted hospitals/personnel to maintain and grow relevance and access.
  • Interact with customers following all Zoetis promotional guidelines.
  • Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan and Resource Allocation plan to maximize ROI.
  • Meet field activity expectations, including sales call activity and investment in medical education programs.
  • Develop and execute a call-cycle at the account and veterinarian level to meet reach/frequency expectations.
  • Work professionally with all Zoetis Petcare colleagues, adhering to expectations for integrity, compliance, work ethic, conduct, communication, administrative responsibilities, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (BS/BA) required.
  • 3-10 years of documented and successful consultative sales experience.
  • Proven success in previous roles, including creatively finding opportunities or solving problems to drive sales performance.
  • Exemplifies being a change agent, continuous learner, and pushing self/others beyond dominant logic.
  • Ability to use analytics and insights to enhance decision-making and tactical execution.
  • Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage assigned expense budgets.
  • Highly focused and results-oriented, able to identify goals and priorities and resolve issues in initial stages.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a close team environment; a self-starter.
  • Animal Health experience and knowledge of small animal veterinary medicine are preferred.
  • Willingness to accept and incorporate feedback.

Technical Skills Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful/fair decisions based on relevant information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn Zoetis systems.

Physical Position Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Willingness to work some evenings as required by the position.
