Requirements

  • South Dakota Resident Producers License from the South Dakota Division of Insurance (must possess a current license)

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement, resulting in meeting and exceeding annual sales targets for all product lines
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and go-to-market plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share; define sales processes and identify improvements
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team by fostering a collaborative culture and providing coaching and professional development
  • Oversee the entire sales pipeline, manage proposals and contract negotiations, and ensure a consistent, effective sales qualification process
  • Define and execute the optimal sales force structure and distribution system for the company and its products
  • Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs to motivate the sales team and distribution network to achieve sales targets
  • Develop and execute plans for outstanding sales leadership, measured by new sales growth, client retention, survey response, and compliance metrics, including strategic engagement plans for key stakeholders, strong relationships with agents/consultants/groups, effective quoting processes, and compliance with regulations
  • Establish strong relationships with community and Avera leadership to develop leads and key customer relationships
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting; participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership and other functions
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful product launches and sales initiatives
  • Interview, hire, develop, train, and retain employees; plan, assign, and lead work; appraise performance; reward and coach employees; address complaints and resolve problems
