Position Overview

The Vendor Project Manager (VPM) provides leadership to Welocalize employees, such as localization QA testers and reviewers, working onsite at client premises. The VPM ensures successful and timely project execution and serves as a liaison between Welocalize and the client to effectively meet the client’s needs and goals.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate testing efforts and schedule resources for projects in multiple labs/locations, working with the client and other project managers.
• Meet with the client to clarify briefs, policies, requests, deadlines, and resource planning.
• Collaborate with project managers, testers, and producers to keep testing schedules on track.
• Establish and maintain internal tracking processes for attendance, schedules, performance, and workload monitoring of testers/reviewers across different language groups.
• Receive new candidates from recruiters and decide on tryout invitations or client presentation.
• Guide tester/reviewer candidates through tryouts, acting as the primary contact and escort while onsite at the client facility.
• Manage onboarding procedures for new testers/reviewers.
• Provide technical and general linguistic training, coaching, and guidance to improve tester/reviewer performance, speed, and quality.
• Compile and maintain training materials and operating guidelines.
• Respond to tester/reviewer scheduling requests and other needs or issues.
• Gather information and feedback from testers/reviewers regarding performance, workload management, and work-related issues.
• Actively seek client feedback on team performance, identify workflow and system challenges, and discuss areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with client company managers and producers to improve and streamline the localization/reviewing process, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
• Devise action plans involving multiple stakeholders to achieve desired results.
• Schedule team meetings as needed.
• Promote team-building activities.
• Report to Welocalize management on onsite activities, team performance, client feedback, requests, policy changes, and planning.
• Report to Welocalize recruiters on immediate and anticipated language needs, upcoming projects, and the status of candidates in training.
• Assist project managers and producers on various tasks.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of Welocalize employees on client premises, including during emergency situations.
