UX Designer and Strategist

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced UX Designer and Strategist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. Responsibilities

  • Build: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives, user needs, and technical requirements. Build intuitive, user-centered designs and wireframes that align with project objectives.
  • UI Design: Collaborate with visual designers to ensure the development of visually appealing and cohesive user interfaces. Apply brand guidelines and design principles to build polished and pixel-perfect UI designs that improve the overall user experience.
  • Customer Focus: Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions. Analyze data and translate insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Interaction Design: Build interactive prototypes and design systems using Figma, ensuring seamless and delightful user interactions. Implement industry standards to build consistent and cohesive experiences.
  • Strategy Development: Engage with customers to determine project goals, objectives, and success metrics. Craft user personas, user journeys, and information architecture to direct the design process.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and visual designers, to ensure successful implementation of designs. Clearly communicate design concepts, rationale, and solutions to collaborators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of industry trends, standard processes, and new technologies. Actively look for opportunities to improve design processes and workflows, contributing to the growth and development of the design team.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Figma, with a deep understanding of its features and capabilities.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of user-centered design projects, demonstrating expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies, with the ability to translate research insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to effectively communicate and explain design concepts to technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for constantly refining processes and learning.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field is preferred.
