UX Researcher

Employment Type: Full-Time Location Type: Remote (within the US) Salary: Not Specified

Position Overview

Join Vetcove, a growing Y Combinator and venture-backed company, and help us revolutionize the way veterinarians purchase supplies. Our eCommerce and mobile platforms streamline the procurement process for veterinary practices, allowing them to compare and buy from all their vendors in one place. We serve over 17,000 veterinary hospitals, supporting tens of thousands of veterinarians and millions of animals annually across the United States. Vetcove is modernizing the $50B+ animal health industry, enabling veterinary organizations to dedicate more time to patient care and less time to administrative tasks.

As a UX Researcher, you will be instrumental in uncovering user insights and translating them into actionable product specifications. You will lead qualitative and quantitative data gathering, conduct usability testing, and identify pain points and opportunities throughout the customer journey. This role also involves owning parts of the product design process, collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop user flows, wireframes, and feature requirements. You will work closely with internal teams (product managers, designers, engineers, customer support) and external stakeholders (veterinary professionals, pet owners), directly influencing the user experience of a platform trusted by thousands.

This is more than just a research position; it's an opportunity to shape product strategy, design user-centered experiences, and build tools that enhance the efficiency of clinics and the well-being of pet parents.

About Our Team

We are a dynamic team tackling significant challenges in an industry embracing technological advancement. Our platform supports the daily operations of veterinary clinics, from medical records to online purchasing. Our mission extends beyond software; we aim to create a more efficient ecosystem for veterinary care.

As a UX Researcher, you will be deeply integrated with product and engineering teams, ensuring user insights consistently inform decision-making. Your contributions will be vital in defining both the 'what' and the 'how' of our product development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research studies, including user interviews, usability testing, and session replay analysis.
  • Synthesize user feedback and requirements into clear, actionable insights to guide product strategy.
  • Translate research findings into detailed product specifications and wireframes.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define feature requirements and design scope.
  • Support the end-to-end design process for select features, from initial exploration to final specifications.
  • Monitor product usage and behavioral analytics to validate design effectiveness and inform iterations.
  • Promote user-centered design and research best practices across all teams.

What We’re Looking For

Experience and Skills:

  • A four-year college degree and professional experience in UX research, UX design, or a related field.
  • Analytical and Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to analyze and synthesize large volumes of user data and translate it into actionable design recommendations.
  • Strong Communicator: Capable of clearly conveying research findings, product requirements, and design rationale to cross-functional teams.
  • Empathetic and Curious: A genuine commitment to understanding user problems and developing thoughtful solutions.
  • Highly Organized: Adept at managing multiple concurrent projects and adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with research and design tools (e.g., Excel, Figma, FullStory).

Benefits (Full-Time Roles)

  • 100% remote work within the USA.
