Requirements

  • Knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring systems), product specifications, seasonality, Point-of-Sale systems, phone, and in-person selling techniques
  • Ability to use Sam’s Garage, product knowledge, and reference materials
  • Proficiency with technology, digital tools, and handheld devices for sales planning, service enhancement, real-time decisions, and team adoption
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with people, handle challenging situations professionally and empathetically
  • Ability to operate hardware (e.g., cash registers), process purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges for different membership and payment types
  • Ability to operate TBC equipment properly and safely, complete vehicle service requests and tests, receive/store/dispose of merchandise and supplies, and maintain documents
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures, standards of ethics and integrity, including Open Door Policy

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility and sales floor safety and standards by adhering to safety policies, conducting safety sweeps, following forklift/hazardous material handling, complying with steel standards, and reporting/correcting unsafe situations
  • Ensure TBC sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised per company policies, handling claims, returns, shrink, and damages
  • Present and maintain merchandise by stocking, setting up, cleaning, organizing displays, removing damaged goods, signing/pricing, and securing fragile/high-shrink items
  • Monitor tire and battery orders daily, assist with installation appointments, communicate lead time changes/cancellations, and suggest alternatives
  • Assist members with tire maintenance and repair services
  • Provide expert member service: greet members, identify needs, assist with purchases/services, resolve concerns, recommend safest/suitable products, explain warranties
  • Drive sales and service excellence by communicating merchandise/service value and collaborating with associates to promote TBC offerings
  • Triage and prioritize TBC service workflow using Sam’s Garage, manage queues, understand service times, re-prioritize appointments, and recommend to Team Lead/Technicians
  • Serve as brand advocate, model high-quality service/products, develop/influence/train team members, address roadblocks
  • Assist with purchasing/service decisions per company policies, complete vehicle service requests/tests
  • Operate TBC equipment safely, receive/store/dispose merchandise/supplies, complete/maintain documents
  • Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, exchanges
  • Complete work assignments/priorities using policies, data, resources; collaborate with managers/co-workers
