Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year’s proven retail sales experience

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in branch customer experience through sales, service, and digital engagement for Consumer and Business Banking customers
  • Support daily branch operations as a Teller and meet customer service and sales needs as required
  • Hold customer appointments (scheduled or walk-in) to identify needs and refer complex needs to appropriate team members/partners
  • Educate customers on features and benefits of Consumer and Business Banking solutions and make recommendations based on needs
  • Engage customers to bank with the organization, provide solutions, and encourage use of digital capabilities
  • Explain high-level criteria used to decision loan applications
  • Complete servicing-related responsibilities for Consumer and Business Banking relationships and lead inquiries to identify other banking opportunities
  • Follow the Bank’s sales process and provide simplified, customer-focused advice and guidance
  • Proactively reach out to customers to contribute to retention and expansion of Consumer and Business Banking relationships
  • Adhere to customer service standards and provide differentiated experiences by understanding needs and delivering solutions
  • Actively engage in lobby management, greeting customers, inquiring about needs, and taking ownership to solve them
  • Introduce appropriate banking partners when servicing needs present product opportunities
  • Assist with and stay current on Consumer and Business Banking AML, BSA, and KYC processes; identify and escalate suspected fraud
  • Resolve and accurately log customer complaints in the appropriate system
  • Review, approve, and help resolve Consumer and Business Banking customer overdrafts
  • Accurately complete customer transactions and related operational activities, including documenting interactions and appointments
  • Adhere to compliance/operational risk controls per Company and regulatory standards
  • Promote an environment supporting belonging and reflecting the M&T Bank brand
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues
  • Meet and maintain registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act
  • Complete other related duties as assigned
  • Provide exceptional service, resolve customer problems timely, drive sales and customer experience, interact with Bank areas for operational issue resolution, and exemplify empathy, customer centricity, flexibility, adaptability, digital fluency, entrepreneurial spirit, and critical thinking
