The Opportunity

Flock Safety is seeking a Traveling Installation Technician to join our Field Operations team. We are looking for results-driven, detail-oriented individuals with a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills to install our products and ensure customer satisfaction. Our technicians are the frontline representatives of our company, interacting directly with a diverse range of customers in the field.

Job Responsibilities

• Install poles of varying lengths according to installation specifications, including digging holes a minimum of 8” x 36”.
• Mount solar panels on poles and attach external batteries to solar panels.
• Affix license-plate reading cameras with PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) technology to poles.
• Work on both public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12 feet high.
• Regularly operate a bucket truck and/or ladder to work on equipment up to 30 feet high.
• Repair minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring.
• Submit installation pictures via the Flock field app on a mobile device.
• Perform administrative tasks, including inventory management and receiving product shipments.
• Conduct all work in a safe and professional manner.
• Meet with customers to discuss installation options and perform site surveys.
• Interpret traffic control plans and permit drawings to identify correct installation locations for Flock devices.

The Skillset

• Requires frequent/continuous bending, digging, reaching, climbing, squatting, sitting, standing, walking, driving, and independently lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Prior experience in field work is a plus, such as construction, security systems, or low-voltage wiring.
• Prior experience operating a bucket truck is preferred.
• Comfortable driving a work van (Ford Transit) and occasionally a 1-ton pickup truck (Ram 3500) or towing a small trailer.
• Must have prior experience using power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.
• Must be comfortable working on ladders at high heights.
• Handyman-like experience, either personally or professionally, is beneficial.
• Strong time-management, organization, and communication skills.
• Desire to work outdoors and comfort working in all weather conditions and outdoor elements.
• General technical aptitude and the ability/desire to learn and work with new software/tools.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Office Suite, Google Suite, and email.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle.
