Requirements

  • 3 years experience in tooling supervision
  • Prior experience as a supervisor, manager, or other leadership experience within a CNC and/or tooling environment
  • Must have CNC & tooling knowledge/experience
  • Knowledge of maintenance spare parts and store room processes

Responsibilities

  • Supervises technicians and other staff responsible for handling equipment, tools and processes; may also supervise employees who design, construct, maintain, calibrate and repair equipment tools, fixtures, and dies
  • Ensures necessary equipment and tools are available to perform maintenance requests
  • Provides oversight of Store Room Operations with assistance from Store Room Supervisor to ensure inventory is kept at an acceptable level, including proper spares for maintenance of equipment
  • Organizes and schedules work to be performed, assigns personnel to tasks and reviews finished work to assure compliance with maintenance, repair and set-up specifications and procedures
  • Supervises and directs toolmakers and set-up personnel to assure proper and timely preventative maintenance, set-up and repair of tooling
  • Directs change team for mold change schedule and manages efficiency of change team
  • Provides technical training to toolmakers, repair and machinist personnel
  • Observes tooling for good operating order, notes malfunctions, schedules necessary maintenance or repair and communicates with follow-on shift to assure continuity of effort
  • Collaborates with plant engineering personnel in the resolution of complex technical problems and the introduction of new equipment and processes
  • Conducts monitoring of experimental processes and equipment and performs other special project work as assigned
  • Provides in-house capability to assure maximum operating efficiency and attainment of expense reduction plan regarding these purchased services
  • Manages budgets for tooling, change team, and store room operations
