Requirements

  • Experience in day-to-day activities and operations of a Tooling Department, including techniques and processes to repair or overhaul turbine jet engine components
  • Knowledge of developing, creating, and maintaining tooling and fixtures for main production processes and equipment
  • Ability to work as a “working supervisory position,” regularly participating in running parts using various machines in the department
  • Proficiency in utilizing computer software programs and applications for assigning, verifying, tracking, and monitoring metrics and job assignments
  • Skills in supervisory functions, including overseeing safety, monitoring work, prioritizing tasks, motivating/coaching team members, managing personnel work hours/schedules, and participating in interviewing/hiring, performance reviews, and employee development

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safety and well-being of the team in accordance with company standards
  • Monitor assigned work and review completed jobs/projects to ensure adherence to work scope and company expectations; work with production planners to prioritize tasks and ensure on-time completion
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and adjust as necessary due to machine outages and staffing schedules
  • Utilize computer software programs and applications to assign, verify, track, and monitor metrics and job assignments
  • Motivate, coach, and counsel team members to achieve desired results
  • Manage personnel work hours, scheduled time off, shift schedules, and overtime with the Department Manager
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring process, performance reviews, and employee development
  • Ensure scheduled work is executed safely and systematically, with machines and equipment maintained, optimized, and operated efficiently
  • Monitor completion of work and development projects while ensuring quality standards are met
